Any physical or virtual block device that the Crest agent can query for S.M.A.R.T. attributes. Each NVMe, SAS, or SATA drive serial is counted once, regardless of how many partitions or volumes it carries. Drives that drop off the agent inventory for more than 30 days are not counted toward your tier limit.

Upgrades are prorated from the day you switch. If you are on a monthly cycle and upgrade on day 15, you are billed for 15 days of Team less 15 days of Starter already paid. Annual customers can upgrade at any point with proration applied to the remaining contract period.

No. Fully on-premise deployment (where the risk model, ingestion pipeline, and dashboard run inside your environment with no outbound telemetry to Crest) is available on Team and Fleet tiers only. Starter uses the cloud-connected agent with TLS 1.3 transit to Crest infrastructure in AWS Mumbai.

We notify you by email when you reach 80% and 100% of your drive limit. Monitoring continues for drives already in inventory. New drives added after the limit is reached are queued but not actively monitored until you upgrade or remove drives from inventory. There are no automatic overage charges.
